38. Fur

Vest: Gap $25, Belt: Charlotte Russe: $3, Tee: Old Navy $7, Earrings: Aldo $1, Watch: Aldo $35
Skirt: Forever 21 $8, Purse: Aldo $50, Tights: Forever 21 $6, Shoes: Payless, Necklace: Forever 21 $13

Sometimes I have a fear of "bold" pieces. The first time a buy an article of clothing, something like I've never owned before, it takes a great deal of courage for me to wear it. I don't know why. I'm not sure if I think the whole world will simultaneously stop, point at me, and laugh or what. But that being said I bought this vest last Fall with the plans of wearing it at Christmas time. I loved the soft {fake} fur collar and the knitted bodice but at the last minute chickened out and it's been waiting patiently for me to be brave in the back of my closet. Well, this past Sunday I wore it and nobody pointed and laughed at me!

I think that a touch of fur, or a big bang of fur too, adds a touch of elegance and luxury to an outfit. I really love the vests that are all fur and multi colored neutrals. I think they are gorgeous! Wearing fur is probably the oldest fashion trick in the book so let's all give a nod to our brave early ancestors, seriously they lived in caves and ate raw meat; brave, and rock some fur this winter.

22. Cashmere Sweater

Sweater: Gap - $8 + gift card, Necklace: Joe Fresh $7, Purse: Maurices $10
Skirt: Forever 21 $8, Tights: Forever 21 $5.80, Shoes: Aldo $18

Confession: this isn't actually cashmere but it has that cashmere look that is absolutely timeless. I'll admit this color might not be current forever but this is the color of the year according to Pantone (and I believe them) and it happens to be a great color for me so I am snatching it up left and right while I can.   I love sweaters like this, they keep you warm but it is light-weight, AKA so flattering. They hug you in all the right places and are so easy to layer. Also did I not get a crazy good deal on this sweater? How I love a good deal!

P.S. Don't forget to follow the blog, it totally makes my day (maybe thats embarrassing to admit but it's true!)

19. Brown Tights

Top: Loft $14, Necklace: eBay $8, Belt: Garage $2.50, Clutch: H&M $12
Skirt: Forever 21 $18, Tights: Old Navy $3, Shoes: Aldo $25

I have to confess brown tights might not be a staple for everyone  BUT if you find that your go-to neutral is brown rather than black or cream rather than stark white then it is definitely a staple you need. I tend to look better in browns and creams so it is necessary for me to have matching hosiery. These are my favorite tights and I can't believe this is their debut on the blog because I wear them the most out of all my tights.

Well it's Friday which means the weekend has started and the hubs has promised me he's all mine today {because tomorrow he belongs to homework} so I am off the enjoy my day. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Top: Loft $7.50, Skirt: Forever 21 $7, Necklace: Aldo {old}, Clutch: Spring {old}
Tights: Winners $5, Shoes: Payless {gifted}

Excuse me if this week might seem a little funeral-ish... there are a lot of black basics that should be found in your wardrobe. I hope all of you have a pair of black heels, really there is no excuse if you don't unless you simply don't own any heels. Black heels are so versatile they can be worn with jeans or a gorgeous evening gown. Don't rob yourself of this wonderful item.

Today I Adore Brittany's.

I am one lucky girl. Why, you might ask? I have had some very special people put in my life. I am always amazed when I look back and see the purpose behind seemingly random occurrences. Three years before I got married I lived with one of my best friends, Brittany, and she has been such a blessing in my life. We grew up together but I learned so much from her while we lived together. I love her like she's my own sister. This last year I met another Brittany and she has changed my life too. I can't imagine my life without these two wonderful ladies {among other amazing ladies I know} and I hope you all have an amazing friend in your life too. Make sure they know you love em'

Wearing:
Trench: Forever 21 - $27.80
Top: Forever 21 - gifted
Skirt: Forever 21 - $7.60
Tights: Old Navy - $2.50
Necklace: Aldo - $5.50
Purse: Aldo - $50.00
Shoes: Report - $12.00

Originally I had on a brown necklace but it wasn't working {I checked the mirror first today} I liked the pop of color this necklace brought to the outfit. Anyways, I really do hope you all have a great friend in your life and remember to have a friend you first must be a friend :)

P.S. What did you adore today?

Who is Justice Beaver?

I'm back! So my leave of absence is over, you wouldn't believe how crazy busy my week was... to busy. Anyways last weekend I bought this necklace and I fell in love with it instantly so I wore it for my "comeback".

So you might be wondering about my title. First question: Do you watch The Office? Dwight and Jim want to sabotage an employee so Jim suggests that they give a radio station their colleagues number as a hotline to win  Justin Bieber tickets. Dwight replies with Who is Justice Beaver? Jim says Ummm a crime fighting beaver... Kennedy and I laugh and laugh about this... mainly he laughs about it and I think it's funny that he's still laughing about it. haha.

So the point of this picture was that my nails are this beautiful minty green that Kennedy bought me for Valentines day (could he be anymore amazing?) and I was wearing this cute baby pink bangle and a mint green bangle that matched amazing and I loved it. You can't really see it but I enjoyed the sun behind me so ce la vie! (La Vie... thats for all you Easy A fans). Anyways great day, loved my outfit. Hope you all had an amazing day and felt beautiful!

Primary Colors

Happy Belated Valentines Day Everyone! I was sick yesterday and so there were no posts, sadly. Today it was a wonderful 43 F or 6 C which is amazing for Idaho in February! I didn't even wear a coat this afternoon while I was calling a client for our I-Comm Agency! I went and sat in the sun while I took notes, it was amazing.

So this is my beautiful cream Nine West coat. I found it a week before Christmas but because K (husband) loves me so much he thought I deserved an early Christmas present!

This is one of my favorite tops from Forever 21 which I have had for two years but I recently got my high waisted skirt so I can wear it like it was meant to be worn. Also these tights... I LOVE. Bright red <3 So gorgeous right? Another break-through item of this outfit is my shoes. For the longest time I was to scared to wear pointy shoes because I was afraid of looking like a witch! Even though I loved them on other people... however I found these at payless for $7.00 and I fell in love.

Hello world, meet my Nine West Tote that captured my heart one day at TJ Maxx for $25.00! I bought it when I was in the RS presidency and had meetings every Sunday but it comes in handy now when I have to dress up for school and I don't want to wear a back pack!

Question: What is one item in your closet you were scared to buy?

Have You Ever Been To Idaho? It's Cold.

So in true Rexburg fashion it was freezing out today but for my I-Comm class we are required to dress up and it was devotional today so I sucked it up and put on my tights. Today was my first day to wear colored tights and I would say it was quite a success. It was also my first day to wear lipstick in public! You can't really see that I am wearing lipstick in these pictures but I promise you I did.

I am also working on the quality of pictures... my husband and I have this learning curve when it comes to photography and "flirting with the camera". Apparently I need to work on that, but with each day comes a new lesson learned!
This is kind of my awkward picture but oh well. Better luck next time!

Coat: Street Wear Society, Blouse: Old Navy, Skirt: Dillards, Tights: Old Navy, Shoes: Ross, Necklace: ALDO
