47. Lace Camisole

Blazer: Gap $25, Blouse: Forever 21 $15, Necklace: Joe Fresh $7
Pants: Joe Fresh $10, Heels: Maurices: $30, Cami: Target $10
Purse: Aldo $50 Watch: Aldo $35, Bracelet: Groop Dealz $4

Undershirts are an absolute staple of a woman's wardrobe. The Lace Camisole is the perfect undershirt when you are dressing up and you don't want a plain cotton undershirt. You can get them in silk to make them even more fancy. I searched for a years for my perfect Cami and I found it at Target! Who knew? If you aren't as picky as me though they are quite easy to come across you just have to decide what kind of lace you want and if you want it at the top and bottom or just one or the other. I only wanted lace on the top which made it a little trickier to find but I did prevail! I would also recommend getting one in white and black. After you have your basics covered go crazy if you want; collect the rainbow!

31. Cuff

Blouse: Old Navy $12, Belt: thrifted $2, Capris: AEO - old, Shoes: Payless $7
Clutch: H&M $12, Cuff: InPink c/o The Daybook giveaway, Necklace: Joe Fresh $7

To be honest I don't think this outfit photographed very well which is not helping me with my fear of Cuffs... yes you read that right I have a fear of Cuffs. I remember in high school I read a "what to wear" type of book with a friend and it said to absolutely never wear anything thick on your wrist because it is the smallest part of the body.

I do think that they are a great accessory to have and I have seen them styled beautifully on others. They are a statement piece that I think works well with mostly bare arms and a simple outfit. I've this Cuff for just about 6 months but I haven't been able to figure out how to style it. Now I really loved this outfit in real life but I don't think it translated well into photo. I suppose I just have to attempt to style it again. Any advice from you Cuff wearers would be much appreciated!

20. Button Up

Top: American Eagle $4, Necklace: J.Crew - gifted, Belt: Joe Fresh $2.50
Pants: AEO $40, Watch: Guess - gifted, Shoes: Payless $8

The button up os definitely an essential for everyone. It can be dressed up with a blazer and worn to a job interview or you can wear it untucked with shorts and sandals to the park. This was my first time wearing a button up done all the way up, and you know what? It's a little uncomfortable. I have a new found sympathy for all the men of the world who wear dress shirts everyday; hopefully their's are more comfy!

Today I Adore Water.

We are 70% water.. I think thats crazy? I am the worst at drinking water and I can totally feel it. So I am very appreciative that we have clean water here and for my Camelback that makes drinking water a little easier.

Kennedy is the very best at drinking water so we have decided that every other time he takes a drink of water he is going to text me and remind me to take a drink... I think it's going to work out well aside from the frequent bathroom trips that are inevitable.

So remember how I said I was obsessed with this blue purse... I wasn't kidding. I love how this blue pops against the black and white.  I've had this top for awhile but I haven't ever worn it with pants {crazy right?} but I liked how it worked with the wide-legged trousers, especially because they are a little higher waisted, I think it worked well.

Wearing:
Top: Old Navy - $15.00
Pants: Gap - $19.99
Trench: Forever 21 - $21.50
Belt: Joe Fresh - $2.50
Necklace: JC Penneys - gifted
Purse: Aldo - $25.00
Shoes: Payless - gifted

Well everyone, have a wonderful day and don't forget to get your H2O!

Today I Adore Conquering Fears.

Today I attempted to conquer three fears:
1. Wear Red & Pink together, that fear comes mostly from color blocking but baby steps!
2. Take out my earrings and try new ones... that was a half success, literally. I got one earring out but I could NOT get my other one out. I was afraid I was going to rip my earring through my ear! That is not a fear I feel like conquering through experience.
3. Ponytails in pictures... I feel like I always look better in real life with a ponytail.

I think my experience was mostly a positive success... tomorrow I will hopefully get my other earring out of my ear and I will attempt the Pink & Red color scheme again another day.

Wearing:
Sweater: Old Navy - $10.00
Blouse: Joe Fresh - $10.00
Jeans: AEO - $29.90
Boots: Famous Footwear - $50.00
Necklace: Forever 21 - $7.50
Watch: Aldo - $35.00

I challenge all of you to conquer a fear today, big or small... even if it's a half attempt like some of mine :)

Today I Adore Grocery Shopping Adventures.

Yesterday was monday, that is grocery shopping day. Kennedy was taking a test so I went solo. I was going down the bread aisle and there was a little boy, probably around 3, and he had a cart that you carry but he had it on the ground and was pushing it around. Except when he pushed it he put his head down, I'm sure for better mileage, and pushed with all his might... Needless to say we collided. It was all fun and games and I screamed but then his Dad said, "You're not supposed to run into the cute ones!" Uh.... is it just me or was that a little strange? I guess I was flattered but I didn't know how to acknowledge  it because obviously he has a kid and we are in Rexburg so it's not like he was much older than me... so off I went. I'm quite sure it was just a Dad being a nerd but still! Has anything like that ever happened to you??

Well today I decided to go with all neutrals. I love a pop of color so dressing in all neutrals was challenging but I think it turned out alright. There is something classic about keeping it simple. Although I am sorry for the blurry pics {lame}. On a side note this is one of my favorite tops but it's never made it on my blog until now!

Wearing:
Blouse: Gap - $15.00
Pants: Gap - $30.00 + gift certificates
Boots: Payless - gifted
Necklace: Jc Penneys - gifted
Belt: Garage - $5.00
Purse: Maurices - $10.00
Watch: Aldo - $35.00

Well I hope you all get a nice compliment in a weird way today :) Just kidding, but seriously.

Today I Adore Long Walks.

You know, in my mind this necklace looked really good with this outfit but I am no longer convinced... but that is what happens when you don't check the mirror before you leave. Lesson learned.

Well on Saturday I had a muscle spasm, said the chiropractor I saw today. {first visit in at least a decade} His name is Dr. Jones, Aqua anyone? Anyways, my back has been pretty sore which has caused me headaches. It is no bueno. So to solve my problem Kennedy and I went for a walk around the neighborhood we live by and it was so refreshing! Luckily enough it was a beautiful day in Rexburg, Idaho.

There were lots of snowmen to see and judge and I have to say I was pretty impressed. Rexburg you have outdone yourself!

Today I Adore Chanel.

Obviously I don't actually own any authentic Chanel {maybe one day... but probably not} but I just finished reading a book about her life so I decided to throw on my most Chanel-like threads. I have a quilted purse that I should've used because Chanel didn't really believe in the "pop" of color like I do but... I made it my own :)

She was a pretty impressive woman, she wasn't the kindest but she always followed her heart and didn't apologize for it and I can respect that. Chanel was also an opportunist, she wasn't afraid of taking a chance and trying something new. I was inspired in more than my dress after I finished reading it. It's amazing what we can learn from someone else's life!

Wearing:
Jacket: bycorpus. - $25.00
Blouse: Old Navy - $10.00
Belt: Joe Fresh - $2.50
Flares: GAP - $19.99
Necklace: ALDO - $5.00
Watch: ALDO - $35.00
Bangle: Claires - $1.00
Purse: ALDO - $25.00
Shoes: Payless - gifted

I have to say this is my favorite kind of outfit, I feel my very best when I dress like this. If only everyday this was appropriate or possible.. Maybe one day?

Today I Adore Gingham

I don't know why but gingham has always made me a little weak in my knees. When I enter a store if there is gingham it will find me because it knows I love it, I just can't get enough.

I also realized that this two posts in a row with my red cardigan which is funny because I don't wear it that often and the pictures were actually taken months apart. I guess thats what happens on Friday the 13th!

Today I Adore Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! December was a crazy month of finals and family so the blog was severely neglected and this picture was taken almost three weeks ago {so you see I had good intentions}. Well I love the beginning of a New Year because everything feels brand new. I have made a few resolutions and I plan on keeping them {miraculously I always do... weird right?}.

K and I have made the goal to be amazing budgeters... yes amazing, not just good or decent but amazing. We have already begun and it's exciting.

Also we have given ourselves a bedtime that must be reached at least four times a week so we can be healthy and happy in the morning :)

Lastly I am working on my running, three times a week is the goal... I am a little nervous about this one BUT I am determined to do it.

What about you guys?

Wearing:
Sweater: Old Navy - $10.00
Blouse: Old Navy - $5.00
Necklace: Wetseal - $5.00 {?}

You will have to excuse my blurry hand, for some reason I COULD NOT stand still :)

Also on a side note today was the first day of my LAST semester at University! AHH :) I'm excited about it and nervous... it's a weird feeling so have your formal education coming to a close. But it will be good. Anyways, I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Years or any other holiday you were celebrating. Have a great day!

Black & Blue

Hey everyone! Meet my new skirt :) I bought this weekend for $8.50 at Forever 21 and I am super pumped about it... also the sheer blouse... Love. Anyways, I titled my post "black & blue" because Once Upon a Time I was in this amazing seminary class (the BEST ever) and we all had nicknames. My cousin and one of my best friends was in that class and she was nicknamed Black & Blue because she is tough and isn't afraid to get hurt or hurt someone else (I admire that about her). She is leaving a mission for our church in 6 weeks and I am going to miss her like crazy! We lived together for three years and I just can't imagine not having her around. So this for her :) Love you Britt!

Wearing:
Top: Old Navy - $15.00
Tee: GAP - $10.00
Skirt: Forever 21 - $8.50
Shoes: ALDO - gifted for my wedding :)

Have a wonderful day everyone! It`s rainy here so I finally get to wear some of my wonderful sweaters!! Tell me your favorite part about fall!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Awkward:
  • The inside of my pants are silky so keeping them off the ground when going to the bathroom was difficult {yuck}
  • During our class presentations {hence my spiffiness} remembering a ten minute presentation given by someone my freshman year.. she said "um" over 100 times... thats every 6 seconds!
  • Hugging my short friend with heels on...
  • Remebering the first time I met K's mission companions and I had a Nyquil hangover... not pretty.
Awesome:
  • Going to Utah this weekend for conference and K's mission reunion!
  • Seeing my wonderful friend Kristy in Provo!
  • Hanging out with our new "married" friends Sunday & Monday! Who's popular??
  • Making popcorn for the drive :)
I hope everyone has an ammmmazing weekend and if you are travelling be safe!

Stumped.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone that said "I don't know how to say this but..."? Usually they don't start or end well. I had an experience like that today but I was the one who was going to say something that was potentially offensive but not meant that way.. on my blog! This blogging thing is tricky because I'm just sitting in my kitchen "alone" with my thoughts but as soon as I put them on my blog, well who knows who's going to read it! So I decided to not share my exciting thought in case it did offend someone. Which is too bad because I am pretty pumped about it. I tell you what, communication is tricky!

Wearing:
Blouse: AEO - thrifted $4.00
Tank: Down East - $10.00
Pants: Joe Fresh - $10.00
Shoes: Spring - $12.00
Necklace & Bangles: Forever 21 - $5.00

Well everyone, I hope that you all have something exciting going on and that you have someone to share it with even if its not on the internet! Have a wonderful day :)

Awkward and Awesome Thursday.

Okay so I have never done this before... I'm not sure if I need to link up to The Daybook blog where this originated but you guys should check it out because Sydney is awesome and I love her blog!

Awkward:
  • Yesterday having a fellow student ride by me on her bike and yell a mean critical statement at me...  I just smiled at her and kept walking, super confused.
  • Thinking said cyclist was going to compliment my outfit only to be insulted.
  • Having Kennedy call me and tell me he was changing his major and career path while I was checking out at Porters, when I apologized to the cashier and told her what happened she stared at me like "why are you telling me this?"
  • Kennedy and I both wore gingham today... oops.
  • Telling my study group I had to go because I had to pee... AWKWARD.. like they don't pee too.

Awesome:
  • Kennedy decided to be a seminary teacher which means I may be able to return to EFY one day as the session directors wife {let's keep our fingers crossed}
  • Having the best classes ever!
  • Getting re-hired as a Games Manager for the fourth semester
  • Catching the Seven Things You Need to Know Before You Go this morning on Cosmo Radio
  • Meeting super awesome people in our new ward on Sunday.
  • Getting to blog again!
  • Having lunch with Kendra and Michelle today. Looove you :)
Well there is my first attempt at A&A Thursday... hope you enjoyed!

Stranger Danger

I received a lovely e-mail from a family friend today about how she took the challenge to compliment someone she didn't know and it was quite a wonderful story! I had an experience today that I decided to write about... BUT after being reminded of what my post was yesterday it is quite ironic.

So we are moving in a week so groceries have been kept to a bare minimum BUT we have all this lettuce {I didn't know how to spell that, thank goodness for Kennedy} so we decided that while Kennedy was in class I would run to the store and pick up some strawberries for a chicken strawberry salad {It's amazing stuff}. So I was in Albertsons minding my own business, walking by the meat, if you know Rexburg's Albertsons, and this guy was passing me and he looked at me and I noticed him looking, so I smiled, because I am a nice person....

THEN... okay you know in the old cartoons we watched as kids? You know how the villains grabbed their chins as they thought? Well, he did that and said to me "You are very pretty"... I said thanks and kept walking and then I was confused and a little nervous. SO I walked right through the produce section and out the door. Needless to say we are not having salad for dinner. So I went to Wal-mart and bought some Cream of Chicken soup to make Pasta Primavera and I bought Kennedy a Snickers to make up for my lack of Strawberries. So I realized this is ironic because yesterday I was all pro about complimenting strangers and then a stranger complimented me and it made me nervous. So when you compliment strangers be nice and not weird. Deal? Deal.

Anyways... sorry for that ramble. Today was super windy so we took refuge in our landing again. I swear it's been windy every day for two weeks!

Wearing: Vest: GAP, Blouse: AEO thrifted, Necklace: no clue?, Belt: thrifted, Pants: AEO, Shoes: Walmart

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful day and that no scary strangers complimented you, only nice ones!

Hello Everyone, Meet Bratface.

So remember when I said it was Fashion Week and I would only be wearing skirts for the next week... well I promise I did wear a skirt today BUT we forgot to grab the camera this morning and we got home at 5:00 and we had to (first do the dishes) make dinner and get back on campus for an event we were going to... SO I changed quickly into jeans and we remembered we hadn't taken pictures yet! Hence... Jeans.

So we went to Dancing with the BYU-I Stars tonight because we are cool and support on campus activities like that and also our social dance teacher was performing so that was an added bonus. If any of you reading this happened to be there I think you will agree that it was phenomenal! I have taken a few dance classes while here at BYU-I and let me tell you... real dancers make dancing look like a breeze but it so not! It take amazing talent and some of these "stars" trained the minimal amount and still did great, so good for them!

Wearing: Necklace & Shoes: ALDO, Sweater: GAP, Blouse: Old Navy, Jeans: AEO, Belt: Charlotte Russe

So my post is a lot later today than usual... the cause? BRATFACE. If you have never had the wonderful chance of meeting Bratface she is my computer; she is a deceptive yellow Dell. You would think because she is yellow she would be so cheery and cooperative but she never has been. Basically she has been a pain in my side from Day 1 earning her name Bratface on a daily basis. Although before I got married my roommate/cousin/friend had a green Dell that looked like he would be so fun to be with and a great companion. False. He had a knack for attracting virus's and earned his name Idiot. Moral of the story... name your computer well. Have a wonderful day!
