24. Cigarette Pants

Scarf: H&M $12.50, Sweater: Gap $8 + gf, Purse: Old Navy $5
Pants: Gap $30, Shoes: Spring $20, Earrings: Aldo $2

At first I wanted to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn and wear all black but it was not working on my silhouette so I went for pattern mixing instead with a pop of color. The tell-tale of the Cigarette Pants is it hits right above the ankle and is tapered at the bottom. So I don't know if you have noticed that polka-dots have literally exploded onto the fashion scene this Fall, they are everywhere! And.... I am loving it. I'm thinking about trying out polka dot pants... too much?

16. Boyfriend Cardigan

Cardigan: Gap $25.99, Top: Joe Fresh $10, Necklace: Forever 21 $12.80
Jeans: AEO $40, Boots: Payless {gifted}

The boyfriend cardigan, for those of you that don't know, is signified by its deep v-neck and typically it will also have pockets on the front. This is my favorite cardigan ever. I waited and waited until Gap had a 40% off sale on it and snatched it up. It's so comfy and the color just oozes of Fall. Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving and although we are in America we had over some fellow Canadians and pigged out. Luckily for us... we have lots of leftovers and we will be pigging out again tonight on all the works. We went around the table and said what we were thankful for: indoor plumbing, washing machines, flat pillows underneath fluffy pillows {it creates the perfect balance} and deodorant. I think we can all agree those are pretty awesome.

4. Aviators

Jacket: Mine via TJ Maxx $30, Pants: Gap $30, Top: Joe Fresh $10, Necklace: Forever 21 $4.80, Shoes: American Eagle $7.00, Sunglasses: AEO $3.00

I took a fashion history class my last year in University and we learned about the origin of the bomber jacket and the aviators. They basically go hand-in-hand. They were popularized after WWI in part by the air force and young stars like James Dean. So respect your elders and get a pair of aviators and rock them just like they did 100 years ago!

Pattern Mixing

Jacket: Forever 21 $25, Top: Joe Fresh $10, Scarf: H&M $12.50, Earrings: Claires $1.00

I'm not really a scarf person but this scarf just seemed to good to pass up. I that this is my first successful pattern mixing. It can be a little intimidating to mix patterns because you don't want to be overwhelming but I think that the polka dots and animal print played off of each other perfectly.
